Looming mismatch between ‘climate ambitions’ and availability of critical minerals as world pursues net zero goals

“Much more mining needed obviously, but that’s an energy-intensive industry in its own right. Awkward for carbophobes – how do they avoid chasing their own tails by creating more of the supposed problem they claim to be addressing?”

It’s no wonder that we don’t see the once-fashionable hashtag #KeepItInTheGround trending, anymore.

Killing the earth to ‘save it’.

The wilful naivety of eco-crusaders, possibly the most painful part of it all to bear.

Supplies of critical minerals essential for key clean energy technologies like electric vehicles and wind turbines need to pick up sharply over the coming decades to meet the world’s climate goals, creating potential energy security hazards that governments must act now to address, according to a new report by the International Energy Agency.
. . .
“Today, the data shows a looming mismatch between the world’s strengthened climate ambitions and the availability of critical minerals that are essential to realising those ambitions,” said the Executive Director of the International Energy Agency.

“The challenges are not insurmountable, but governments must give…

  1. Louis E. Deaux says:

Again, a reminder, climate is NOT driven by CO2 or CH4, a combined 412ppm with a thermodynamic energy forcing value of less than 2eK/molecule/million of atmosphere (mpa).

We know climates change, but human impact through CO2 and cow flatulence is certainly not causation. The math is simple and numbers based on thermodynamic physics of GHGs H2O, CO2 and CH4 are agreed upon by NOAA, NASA and the IPCC.

GHG’s contributecabour 16.3°K to a present wwT (climate) of 288.8°K.

Energy Forcing from ALL GHG’s is about 25,800 eK units. But 25,000 ok units comes from water vapor (H2O). Only 800 eK units comes from CO2 and CH4 combined. At the MOST anthropogenic causation of CO2 and CH4 driven ppm changes is not more than 25% (1:4 mpa).

Do the math and you see how ridiculous the hoax is…

    16.3/288.8°K>|0|°K x 800/25,800 x 1/4 = 0.00044°K

Therefore if climate has truly changed since 1865 by 1°K as claimed, and only 0.00044°K can be attributed to anthropogenic industry, then +0.99956°K MUST BE NATURAL. Inasmuch as climate swings of +2/-2°K by admittedly natural causes have occurred in modest 2-4 century time frames over the past 14,000 it seems odd to think a one degree change over 150 years us somehow a sign that humans are causing the planet to die.

The hoax is clearly about money and power wrapped up in industrial investments where grand hucksters are literally forcing the plants to suffocate and humans to pay for the very air we breath.

P.S. These numbers are slightly more refined from prior posts, but do not account for possible errors in ice core evaluations that create a Botanical Extinction Paradox if believed. Solving the botanical paradox is not difficult given the thermodynamics of CO2 sublimation losses during ice core trapping events can be factored back into gas measured assumptions. But doing this simply cuts the human impact of 0.00044°K by 40-50% and as shown, the impact over 125 years is now almost impossible to measure. The subject of CO2 sublimation is fully ignored by AGW activists, but not botanists or physicists. It should be the subject of a separate article or comment.
