South Australia’s Wind Power Debacle: Supermarkets Sacking Staff, While Sales of Portable Generators BoomPosted: February 18, 2017
And what is that stuff called that portable generators run on again?? Oh that’s right – fossil fuels!
Greens and their feel-good, useless windmills. Creating hugely expensive, unreliable and unwanted energy causing a boom in Chinese made fossil fuel generators (using our demonised coal to make them of course!)
Another great example of Greens and their feel-good intentions and insane policies that is “Killing The Earth To Save It”!
You really can’t make this stuff up.
Reliable, secure and affordable electricity is one of those things that the last few generations of Australians have largely taken for granted.
Not so in Australia’s so-called ‘wind power capital’, South Australia. These days, Croweaters count their blessings if power is delivered at all and count their pennies every time they’re hit with a power bill that is magnitudes greater than the last.
With a power supply to rival Equatorial Africa and retail prices more than double their neighbouring states, South Australians are at wits end. The first article from The Australian deals with the crashing economic impact that South Australia’s rocketing power prices are having on business, while the second details the kind of DIY spirit that’s needed in a State obsessed with its attempt to run on sunshine and breezes.

“So even the rain that falls isn’t actually going to fill our dams and our river systems…” Tim Flannery 2007
YET ANOTHER dud-prediction realised from
Global Warming Climate Change alarmist extraordinaire, Tim Flannery.
WHEN will he be, literally, put in the dock for crimes against climate/science truths, costing taxpayers literally $Billions in dud-predictions with his insane litany of ideologically driven climate falsehoods?!
The poster child of “global warming” catastrophe alive and thriving! With scientists increasingly questioning alarmists on the very fact that there are *way more* polar bears alive today than 40 years ago.
Yet another alarmist falsehood used to scare and brainwash the gullible into “catastrophic man-made global warming” belief.
Oddly, activist organization Polar Bears International recently updated their website and now suggest there is still time to save polar bears and sea ice – even though the IUCN Red Listdocumented more polar bears alive in 2015 than at any time in the last 50 years, despite the recent decline of summer sea ice – and even more bizarrely, call for a public uprising.
Polar Bears International (with three polar bear scientists on staff and other as active advisors) suggest that people who love polar bears should march the streets on Earth Day with scientists to demand (as concerned and engaged citizens) that world leaders take them seriously.
Wow. I’ve been a career scientist for more than 40 years and I have to say, this is the oddest phenomenon I’ve encountered being advanced in the name of science. To me, it shows how disconnected these people…

Rather inconvenient news for promulgators of CO2-induced Climate Change fear, doom and gloom…
By Paul Homewood
Study of historical hurricane occurrences in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea, during the period 1749 to 2012, reveals that “the hurricane number is actually decreasing in time.”
Rojo-Garibaldi, B., Salas-de-León, D.A., Sánchez, N.L. and Monreal-Gómez, M.A. 2016. Hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea and their relationship with sunspots. Journal of Atmospheric and Solar-Terrestrial Physics148: 48-52.
Although some climate alarmists contend that CO2-induced global warming will increase the number of hurricanes in the future, the search for such effect on Atlantic Ocean tropical cyclone frequency has so far remained elusive. And with the recent publication of Rojo-Garibaldi et al. (2016), it looks like climate alarmists will have to keep on looking, or accept the likelihood that something other than CO2 is at the helm in moderating Atlantic hurricane frequency.

Australia’s warmist agency BoM (Bureau of meteorology) removed the very warm temps of the late 1800’s and begins Australia’s temp record at 1910. This correlates with warm Cape Town (Southern Hemisphere) temp data, pre-1909, removed by NASA to maximise upward trend in temps, promoting the “man-made” global warming narrative.
BoM also smoothed out (removed) 1940-1970’s cooling in many regions of AUS, as seen in the Cape Town record, to create an overall warming trend.
“Man-Made” global warming, by pen and *not* CO2, indeed.
Playing around with my hometown data, I was horrified when I found what NASA had done to it. Even producing GISTEMP Ver 2 was counterfactual.
Guest essay by Philip Lloyd
The raw data that is fed to NASA in order to develop the global temperature series is subjected to “homogenization” to ensure that it does not suffer from such things as the changes in the method of measuring the mean temperature, or changes in readings because of changes in location. However, while the process is supposed to be supported by metadata – i.e. the homogenizers are supposed to provide the basis for any modification of the raw data.
For example, the raw data for my home city, Cape Town, goes back to 1880:
The warmest years were in the 1930’s, as they were in many other parts of the globe. There was then a fairly steep decline into the…

“would you rather have your economic future destroyed by a $42 billion electricity tax, designed to subsidise the construction of another 6,000 of these things; or a $90 billion electricity tax, designed to subsidise the construction of another 12,000 of them [windmills]?”
No further comment your honour.
STT has a hard time working out whether Federal Energy & Environment Minister, Josh Frydenberg is simply thick, obtuse or knee-deep in the greatest government sanctioned rort of all time?
Faced with a disintegrating electricity grid, skyrocketing power prices and a renewable energy policy on the brink of collapse, Frydenberg is playing political games, when he ought to be tearing up Australia’s costly and chaotic energy policy and starting from scratch.
Like Nero, fiddling while Rome burns, Frydenberg is exhausting his political capital ranting and raving about the ludicrous 50% renewable energy target being peddled by the Federal Labor Opposition, as well as berating Australia’s State Labor governments, for attempting to run their own races on renewable energy.
With a nod to Scripture, Frydenberg is obsessed with the specks in his political opponents’ eyes, but fails to notice…

NOAA TORNADO LIES: Another solid example of why government climate agencies like NOAA, NASA, CSIRO, BoM, MetOffice – run by a handful of activist administrators, are the last places to hear or read the truth on “global warming” aka “climate change”.
“The bottom line is that the NOAA headline graph is grossly dishonest. Indeed, if a company published something like that in their Annual Accounts, they would probably end up in jail!
NOAA themselves know all of this full well.
Which raises the question – why are they perpetuating this fraud?”
Read all of the excellent deconstruction of yet more NOAA fraud via Paul Homewood here…
By Paul Homewood
According to NOAA, the number of tornadoes has been steadily growing since the 1950s, despite a drop in numbers in the last five years.
They show the above chart prominently in their Tornadoes – Annual 2016 Report.
However, they know full well that it is meaningless to compare current data with the past, as they explain themselves in the section Historical Records and Trends, which is hidden away on their own website:
One of the main difficulties with tornado records is that a tornado, or evidence of a tornado must have been observed. Unlike rainfall or temperature, which may be measured by a fixed instrument, tornadoes are short-lived and very unpredictable. If a tornado occurs in a place with few or no people, it is not likely to be documented. Many significant tornadoes may not make it into the historical record since Tornado Alley was…
