103 Year Record Cold Low For New York City Set ❄️

Nothing to see here…moving right along.

The rules are pretty straightforward:

Cold = Weather
Hot = Climate

Watts Up With That?

Added: 11/11 8:30AM PST See update below. Records were set over the past two days at Central Park, but the 144 Year old record still stands.

Dr. Ryan Maue has been tracking the forecasts for the Northeast, and the result is…ah, chilling. Maue says the “polar vortex” is responsible for the exceptionally cold and dry air invading the Northeast USA.

He goes on to say that the all time record for New York City of 22°F forecast by morning in NYC would be coldest, earliest temperature on record.

The previous earliest record of reaching 22°F was Nov 13, 1873. The 21°F expected for NYC would be the coldest in 144 years. Further…

The Game Changer: HuffPost Embraces Nuclear Power

The high priests of the Global Warming faith embracing Nuclear!

Sound the death knell for unreliable energy – wind/solar – as a fanciful baseload alternative to fossil fuels!

What a truly catastrophic disaster – environmentally, socially and economically the feel-good ‘Green’ energy experiment has been.

Sigh.

Huffpost has published a very supportive post, about New York State embracing nuclear power as an equal player in the low carbon energy game.

The Game Changer: New York’s Clean Energy Standard and Nuclear Energy

For years, I’ve said that when it comes to the challenge of fighting climate change, we will need every tool available to reduce carbon pollution and create opportunities for new clean energy technology.

Yet, despite a world that demands more carbon-free energy – not less – public policies have left some of the tools in the toolbox. Until now.

In August, with the help of Governor Andrew Cuomo’s leadership, the New York State PSC took unprecedented action in passing a Clean Energy Standard that, in addition to ensuring ample opportunity for more wind, solar, and energy efficiency, recognizes the important role of existing carbon-free…

The sea levels are now reducing in the “hotspots of acceleration” of Washington and New York

When is that colourless, odourless, trace gas and plant food ‘Carbon Dioxide’ (aka “pollution”), currently emitted at ‘record’ levels, meant to kick in and submerge the Statue Of Liberty, as Nat Geo assures us?

Watts Up With That?

Guest essay by Giordano Bruno

Hopefully everybody remember Sallenger’s “hot spots” of sea level acceleration along the East Coast of the US.

Asbury H. Sallenger Jr, Kara S. Doran & Peter A. Howd, Hotspot of accelerated sea-level rise on the Atlantic coast of North America, Nature Climate Change 2, 884–888 (2012), doi:10.1038/nclimate1597

This was one of the many examples of bad science misinterpreting the sea level oscillations by cherry picking the time window.

As 6 more years of data have been collected, let see if the hotspots are now the “hottest on record” or if they have cooled down.

The logic of Sallenger & co. was based on the comparison of the rate of rise of sea levels over the first and second half of time windows of 60, 50 and 40 years, i.e. the comparison of the rate of rise over the first and the last 30, 25 and…
