Why Was It So Mild Last Month?

Excellent analysis of “weather” versus “climate”…

By Paul Homewood

It was unusually mild last month in England. According to the CET, it was 3.0C warmer than the 1961-90 average.

Global warming, I hear you cry. Well, maybe, but things are not quite that simple.

Follow the link to the CET data and download the mean monthly values: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/hadobs/hadcet/data/download.html

Chart March as Paul has done, starting 1901, only this time add a linear trend line. You will find that it is upwards at 0.11C per decade – total warming of over 1.3C since 1901.

You might ask yourself why this simple and obvious way of determining the direction of any March change was overlooked?
