Tragic news for climate catastrophists as Arctic sea ice extent looks set to smash all records, despite rising CO2 emissions.
Arctic amplification is the most fundamental tenet of global warming theory, and we are seeing the exact opposite.

Interesting – with recent revelations that Antarctic ice is growing and also Greenland surface ice, now with the record Arctic ice, there is very strong indications that the poles are getting colder or at least gaining ice.
The best predictions are for a period 1-2 decades of cooling. So either this suggests we are already in a cooling phase and that the El Nino is temporarily masking this in temperatures across the rest of the globe (The irony here is that cooling is being hidden by heat FROM the ocean!!). Or I suspect that the Poles are a leading indicator – that they go into cooling and then drag the rest of the globe down in temperature.
Either way, I will be very interested to see what the global temperature shows after the El Nino (from Satellites obviously – not fraudulent ground data)

Well, Climate is something you cannot measure in a couple of years. If you look at a graph showing about the same metric for the last decades, you will notice that we have been on decline for a while and the ups and downs, that are presented here as a falsification of the theory are natural and nothing more than deceiving “evidence” presented in the wrong scale.

I agree with your timescale issue. Be good if the global warming catastrophists did too. And not try to enact global communism based on 22 years of warning 1976 – 1998.

The 30 % sea-ice coverage index became finally too inconvenient even for the DMI as they noe finally discontinued it all together replaced it with a picture where the recent rise of the sea ice after October 2015 has been “reinterpreted”: http://ocean.dmi.dk/arctic/plots/icecover/icecover_current.png

The DMI 30% threshold extent hasn’t been maintained by DMI for many moons. Just look at the graph at the top for the evidence!
Our host will no doubt be interested to learn that the records that have in fact been smashed are global sea ice area and extent, both of which have reently fallen to levels never before seen since satellites started measuring them.
